These 10 Kreg Jig builds are simple to tackle, genuinely useful, and good-looking too! Turn a stack of lumber into a lovely piece of furniture in a flash! It's home improvement at its very best!

Kreg Jig builds rank among my top picks! I absolutely adore a straightforward DIY job that turns a handful of ordinary boards into something lovely and practical. Yet what I value even more is any tool that makes those builds quicker and easier.
That's why I'm so grateful I picked up a Kreg Jig when I first wandered into the wonderful world of DIY. This compact pocket hole jig is the top pocket hole joinery tool available, it's a breeze to operate, and it has helped me build plenty of handy, attractive pieces for my home. It's easily one of the most useful tools in my garage!

10 Remarkable Kreg Jig Projects
Give one of these fantastic DIY builds a try with your Kreg Jig!
1. Chalkboard Chalk and Eraser Holder
This chalk and eraser holder for a chalkboard (step-by-step guide here) ranks among my all-time favorite builds. It's remarkably simple since it only needs 2 scrap boards plus 2 Kreg pocket holes and screws. It also keeps my chalk and eraser within arm's reach of my chalkboard, so they're always handy!

I'm glad I no longer have to dig through the junk drawer or head to the art cabinet whenever I need a piece of chalk! And it's adorable too. When good design meets practicality, I call that a win.
2. Floating Shelves You Can Build Yourself
Open shelving has been hugely popular lately, and I doubt it's heading out of style anytime soon. What makes it so appealing is that it looks lovely, serves a purpose, and is surprisingly easy to mount!

These DIY floating wooden shelves from Shanty 2 Chic are ideal for a first-time builder. They look great in a bathroom, and now that I think about it, I have the perfect spot for them in mine! #wheelsalwaysturning
3. Homemade Planter Box
This charming, straightforward DIY Farmhouse Wood Box makes a perfect centerpiece when filled with mason jars and blooms. You could also use it with mason jars to hold bathroom essentials or in the kitchen. The options are nearly endless, and it's so simple to build. It's my favorite easy DIY project this year!

4. Homemade Coffee Table
I've wanted to build my own coffee table for ages, so this beautiful DIY Turned Leg Coffee Table from Shanty 2 Chic caught my eye straight away! Those gorgeous logs really steal the show, and everything else comes together easily!

Though I'm still weighing whether to upholster the top of mine... hmm. Tough choices! But building a simple coffee table with a simple tool? An easy decision!
5. Homemade Pallet Sign
This lovely sign was my first attempt at a Large Hand-Painted Pallet Sign (step-by-step guide here), and I really enjoyed working with my Kreg Jig on it! It lets you fasten each board side by side so they stay put and never drift apart over time.

It forms a solid joint between every piece of wood. I occasionally add a couple of wooden braces across the back for extra strength, though they're probably unnecessary. I've since built several more pallet board signs and love every one! (P.S. Yes, there is a misspelled word on the sign.)
6. Wooden Bench with Hidden Storage
How about building your own DIY Storage Bench like this one from The House of Wood? I love that it has storage built right in, and you'd never even notice it. My mudroom/hallway is too tight for a bench, but I think it would look great in my garage, just outside the door.

That way we'd have somewhere to sit while pulling on our shoes, plus space for beach gear or anything else we want to stash inside!
7. Farmhouse Dining Table
The project I'm proudest of in my home is my DIY Farmhouse Dining Table. It's the build that actually convinced me to buy my Kreg Jig. I persuaded my husband that the cost of the lumber and tools together was worth the time and effort it would take to build. Granted, the time and effort on the table were all mine, but he had to wrangle the kiddo while I worked.

I'm truly proud to say I built my own dining room table. You should give it a go sometime!
8. Homemade Outdoor Buffet
I think a good Pottery Barn knockoff is the best of both worlds! You get the gorgeous, classic farmhouse style for under half the price! This Outdoor Buffet from Sincerely, Marie Designs strikes the perfect balance of form and function, and it's a very simple project!

9. Bookshelf Ledges for Ten Dollars
I've been meaning to build some $10 Ledge Shelves for roughly five years, and I finally installed a set in my youngest daughter's nursery. She adores reading, and I wonder whether it's partly due to the shelves and the access to books she's had her whole life.

I truly believe it makes a difference when a child sees books within reach and can grab one whenever they like. You can also use shelves like these to display photos on a gallery wall.
10. Sliding Barn Door Room Divider
And last but certainly not least, my DIY Sliding Barn Door separates my friend's formal dining room from her kids' playroom. It adds seriously charming farmhouse and industrial style and works as a real door too. Would you build one of these?

Closing Thoughts
I'd love to hear about your favorite Kreg Jig project in the comments! Or what would you build first if you owned this excellent pocket hole jig?
