Nothing says summer quite like an adorable, citrusy lemon, right? This DIY lemon wreath is easy, budget-friendly, and fun to make, not to mention super cute!!

When you think of lemonade, you probably picture the dog days of summer, right? Sipping it outside between runs through the sprinkler. It takes me right back to those good old childhood days.

In decor, few things welcome summer like a little lemon styling. It's super trendy right now, which I love!

I bought this adorable lemon wreath at Target a couple of years ago and have kept it because I love it! But it sold out quickly, as seasonal items do at Target, and I never found another one like it.

So this year, when I wanted a new wreath for my front door, I decided to recreate my original lemon wreath, only a little bigger and with a fun twist. That way you can have one, too!

Supplies You'll Need for Your DIY Lemon Wreath

  • A few lemon garlands or faux lemons.
  • Other faux greenery and stems of your choice (I ended up using just the two lemon garlands and the greenery, skipping the pink faux blossoms.)
  • Grapevine wreath (mine is 18″)
  • Floral wire cutters
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks (or floral wire)
  • “Hey” sign, optional (I found mine at Kirkland's, but also spotted this cute one online.)

Steps to Make a Lemon Wreath

Step 1. Use the floral cutters to separate your garland or stems first.

Don't cut everything up just yet, because you may find, like I did, that you don't use it all.

Step 2. Start with the larger greenery and arrange the pieces around the wreath until it looks full and balanced, or until you run out of greenery!

Secure them in place with hot glue.

Step 3. Space the lemons evenly around the wreath (or cluster them if you prefer), then glue them in place with hot glue.

Step 4. Tuck in any other floral elements you like.

I used some of the small lemons from the smaller garland, plus the flowers that came with it. I had planned to add some pink blossoms, but that seemed like too much. Glue everything into place.

Step 5. Attach your “hey” sign, or any other sign you like, to the top with floral wire.

Then hang it on the door! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Haha! You knew I couldn't write about lemons without throwing that phrase in.

That's all there is to it! It took me about 45 minutes and cost around $30. I love how it turned out!

Remember that original lemon wreath I mentioned? I hung the two side by side, and I love them both!
