Make an adorable DIY rustic snowman door hanger! I always love getting my hands dirty with paint and power tools. A quick project that pays off right away is fun too, don't you think?
Ready to see how my Rustic Snowman Door Hanger turned out?

Doesn't he look like a cute little guy standing guard at my door in his dapper turquoise striped scarf? I think so!

It's time to start thinking about decorating for the upcoming season, so check out the Home Depot #DIHworkshop instructions below to make your own!

I was given the instructions to make the door hanger, but I could customize it however I wanted. I knew I wanted a snowman because he takes us from Christmas right into winter. I am always thinking about how to decorate for winter, not just for the holidays.

I stained his hat in two different stain colors: golden oak for the hat and early american for the brim. I also stained the face in Early American and painted over it with white chalky paint. I wanted to distress the face a little and let the stain show through behind the paint.

I am more of a traditional girl, so the traditional snowman face is my favorite. I also gave my little guy a turquoise striped scarf. It gets cold out there in the winter! (It isn't cold here yet, though. Today it's in the 80s, again!)

Isn't he so cute?
