DIY Industrial Jewelry Organizer

Do you ever make a project that's both useful and pretty, using supplies you picked up at the hardware store? Those are my favorite kind! That's why I love this DIY Jewelry Organizer so much. It turns everyday items that weren't meant to be decorative into a beautiful, practical piece.

I took the inspiration above and made a few changes to make it my own! Here's how it turned out:

Of course, I wanted turquoise knobs to hang my necklaces on. I also changed the corners to mitered corners. The instructions have you attach the brackets to the back of the frame, but since I was doing mitered corners, I thought they'd look better on the front for a bit of an industrial feel.

I swapped the Union Jack aluminum sheet for a mosaic metal sheet. It suits my style better, and it goes nicely with the rustic light blue finish on the frame. It's hard to see in the photos that it's light blue, but it is.

I stained the frame first, then brushed on a thin layer of paint for a more rustic finish.

It's so pretty! I loved mine so much that I'm keeping it for myself, though I may well make some as gifts since they're so easy to make!
