Lavender essential oil earns its reputation as the Swiss Army knife of oils thanks to its versatility. Let's look at all the ways you can put it to use!
Lavender is hands-down one of my top oils. It's among the most loved because of its sweet fragrance and how adaptable it is.
Not long ago, when my family spent time at the beach, we leaned heavily on Lavender and other Young Living Lavender products for our sunburns. I got a bit too much sun on our last day. Afterward I dabbed undiluted lavender onto my skin and it felt wonderfully soothing! I reapplied generously over the next few days. My skin turned into a tan quickly and I never peeled.

I also rely on it to head off seasonal congestion. Whether I blend it with peppermint and lemon or simply rub a little under my nose to keep the sniffles away, I never leave home without my lavender.
I no longer need over-the-counter allergy medicine. Honestly, it's one of two oils I carry with me at all times.
Here is what the Young Living website says about Lavender:
Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) carries a fresh, sweet, floral, herbal scent that feels soothing and revitalizing. As the most versatile of all essential oils, it's considered a must in every home. Lavender is described as an adaptogen, meaning it may help the body adjust to stress or imbalance. It's a wonderful aid for unwinding before bed, yet its balancing qualities can also lift stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender is prized for skin and beauty care, and may be used to comfort and clean minor cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. French scientist René Gattefossé was among the first to notice these properties after a serious burn in a laboratory explosion. Lavender can also be used to brighten the flavor of food.
