11 Amazing Uses for Peace and Calming Essential Oil

I’m so excited to share one of my favorite essential oils with you today! When I first opened my starter kit and started sniffing each one, I wasn’t sold on this one. Little did I know I would come to love the scent and use it every single day!

Which oil am I talking about? The wonderful Peace & Calming, of course. This popular blend contains tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli and blue tansy. The earthy scent is lovely, and it helps me get a good night’s sleep every night.

11 Amazing Uses for Peace and Calming Essential Oil

I’m a fairly light sleeper and wake easily. That comes in handy, since I have a young daughter who often cries in the middle of the night, and I need to go see what’s wrong.

There were many nights when I struggled to fall asleep (too much screen time, probably, or too many things on my to-do list), or I had trouble drifting back off after being woken up. Now I roll a little Peace & Calming onto my feet every night before bed, and I sleep like a rock.

I fall asleep quickly, drift back off easily, and don’t wake up at every little sound (like my husband getting up early to get ready in the morning). I DO still hear my daughter when she cries out, which is good.

Peace & Calming according to the Young Living website:

Peace & Calming® is a gentle, fragrant blend. When diffused, it helps ease tension and lift the spirit, encouraging relaxation and a deep sense of peace. When massaged onto the bottoms of the feet, it can be a lovely prelude to a restful night. Peace & Calming may be especially soothing and comforting to young children after a busy, stressful day.

I love that this oil is safe for children – and pets!

Many ways to use Peace & Calming:

  • Rub 1-2 drops on the bottoms of the feet and on the back of the neck before bedtime to encourage sound sleep. I do this every night! {It can be used with children, too – hint, hint.}
  • Apply behind the ears of your pet when he is frightened by thunder or stressed.
  • Dilute one drop in a carrier oil and rub it on a child’s tummy or the bottoms of their feet to calm a tantrum.
  • Diffuse 4-6 drops at night to ease teeth grinding.
  • Add 5-8 drops to half a cup of Epsom salt and stir it into a bath for a calm, relaxing effect.
  • Diffuse at home or in the car to settle overactive children.

  • Wear it as perfume by rubbing it on your wrists and behind your ears, especially before a stressful meeting or event.
  • Add to coconut oil for a relaxing massage and relief from daily stress.
  • Rub on the back and behind the ears of hyperactive pets after they’ve been running around with the kids.
  • Apply to the wrists, edges of the ears, neck and bottoms of the feet to ease anxiety or a panic attack.
