Making this homemade lip balm is a breeze! Pick your favorite essential oils and you’ll have DIY lip balm with a free printable label in no time!
This DIY will blow your mind. Not because it is some stroke of genius (well, it kind of is), but because it is so quick and simple. It is seriously easy, and it will save you a little money, too.
These make wonderful gifts for others, or you can keep them for yourself. I did both, because they are too tasty to pass up!
So what am I talking about? All-natural DIY lip balm made with essential oils.

I love them!!
I tried several flavors, and while I like them all, my favorite by far is the Cinna-mint. Miss A loves lip balm (or “lip gloss,” as she calls it) just as much as I do, so I gave her the lavender one. She loves having her own “makeup,” and I know it has no harsh ingredients. Win-win!

All-Natural Lip Balm Recipe
2.5 T. Coconut Oil
1.5 T. Beeswax (from Amazon)
12 drops of Young Living Essential Oil (I used Citrus Fresh, Peppermint, Cinnamon Bark/Peppermint and Lavender.)
10 empty Lip Balm Containers (also on Amazon)

Melt the beeswax and coconut oil together in a glass or ceramic microwave-safe bowl. (Or heat them over the stove in a double boiler.) Stir in your Young Living essential oils.

Fill your lip balm containers and let them cool until firm.

I used my kid’s medicine dropper to fill the little tubes. I’ve heard some people pour straight from a glass container into the lip balm tubes, but I wasn’t sure mine would pour cleanly, and I didn’t want oil all over the floor. So I drew some up with the dropper and squeezed it into each tube. It worked well! Just work quickly, because the mixture cools fast once it leaves the hot bowl.
Then let them set. Resist the urge to touch the tops to check, because nobody wants your fingerprints on their lip balm! Seriously, you’ll spoil the pretty sheen on top if you touch it.

You can make these in any flavor you can dream up! A couple of years ago my sister-in-law made me one with cocoa butter and orange essential oil, and it was amazing! I’ll definitely try that next time.
UPDATE: Several of you asked, so I’ve uploaded the labels for you to print and use on your own lip balm containers. I printed mine on sticker paper from Silhouette, but full-sheet label paper works too, or you can print on regular printer paper and attach them with tape or spray adhesive. (These labels are for personal use only!!)
