Turn Wrapped Gifts into Decor
Stores now start their sales earlier every year, so we can check off our gift lists by November. Once the shopping is finished, it's much easier to get everything wrapped ahead of time. I do this every year so I can relax and enjoy the holidays with my family.
Wrapping early has another perk: the gifts can double as decor! I often tuck a few around my home for a festive touch. Just make sure you remember where you put them all by Christmas morning!

Create a Gift Wrapping Station
Over the years I've tried a lot of different gift-wrapping setups. When space was tight, I used under-the-bed storage bins. In my previous home, I turned a desk in my living room into a lovely wrapping station where I could wrap presents while the kids napped.
In this house, I use a spare closet in our guest bedroom. I hung a wall organizer (similar) and added a desk where I can wrap gifts. It's ideal for hiding presents from my kids since the door locks. I can wrap in there too, my own little Mrs. Claus workshop!

9 Christmas Gift Wrap Ideas for Lovely Presents
When I wrap gifts, I like to put some extra thought into it, such as coordinating with my decor and adding personal touches. Here are some of my favorite ways to wrap presents!
1. Coordinate with Your Decor
Gifts look stunning when they match your decor. One easy way to do that is to wrap them with leftover ribbon from the tree!

Or pick wrapping paper that complements the tree ribbon you're using that year. It's so simple, yet it gives your decor a polished, cohesive look!
2. Finish with Ribbon
If I do nothing else, I always tie ribbon around my packages. Nothing looks prettier than a simple ribbon finished with a bow. You can pick wide or skinny ribbon. It's all so lovely!

3. Dress Up the Paper with Gift Toppers
Take it a step further than ribbon by adding a mini ornament, candy cane, pom pom, jingle bells or a tiny wreath! It's adorable and so personal!
A topper is also something the recipient can keep and hang on their tree next year, so they'll think of you for years. If I could only choose one gift topper (after ribbon), this would be it! It also brings extra decor to the bottom of the tree, which looks lovely.

It doesn't have to cost much, either. Every year I hunt for little ornaments after Christmas and snap them up while they're deeply discounted!
4. Bring the Outside In
A sprig of greenery looks lovely and smells wonderful! Tuck a simple evergreen sprig onto a package for a pretty, fragrant gift. Tie on a pine cone with a bow for an extra accent.

5. Add a Monogram Ornament for a Personal Touch
Help the recipient feel special with a monogrammed gift! Just add an initial ornament to your wrap so no presents get mixed up on Christmas morning!

6. Wrap with String
If ribbon isn't your style or it's too pricey, try string, yarn or twine for a rustic look. Wrapping twine around a box several times gives the look of ribbon without the cost! You can even find colored baker's twine to match your palette.

7. Use Kraft Paper for Large Gifts
Kraft or butcher paper is a great choice for big presents that would use up too much of your fancy paper. It looks wonderful mixed with other wrapping papers, and you can stamp a design on it if you like! A large piece of fabric also works well for covering bulky gifts.

8. Simple Cutout Embellishments
One year I didn't want to buy new paper, so I cut out colorful deer and snowflakes to decorate my kraft paper wrapping. It looked wonderfully rustic and charming!

You could also add letter stickers, washi tape or other cute stickers to a plain gift box. It's a great way for kids to personalize their presents.
9. Complimentary Printable Gift Tags
Free printables are always a good idea. For years I've found printable Christmas designs and turned them into gift tags, but a while back I decided to design my own gift tags for you to print! Clip one on with a colorful clothespin and it becomes a decoration all its own!
