Holiday cards are a must-have part of the season, so here are some clever ways to put them on display!

I adore sending and receiving holiday photo cards every year. My favorite part is mailing ours the day before Thanksgiving so the season kicks off early! That's why I love finding a standout spot to show them off at home.

How I Show Off My Christmas Cards at Home

Right now we use the big mirror in the hallway just off the kitchen. Everyone walks past it several times a day, and it's visible from the kitchen. I keep cards from past years so it's already full when it goes up.

For the setup, I zigzagged red velvet ribbon across the mirror and pressed decorative thumbtacks into the edges of the frame to hold it in place. When I take it down, the tack holes aren't noticeable. A smoother mirror might call for a different approach, though.

Then I clip the cards to the ribbon with pretty gold clothespins. It's a simple setup that works in plenty of other spots around the house.

In our old house, I built a frame with chicken wire stretched across the back and displayed cards on it every season. I left it behind when we moved, but it earned its keep for many years!

DIY Christmas Card Holder

The first year in our current house, I simply taped the cards along the doorway between the kitchen and living room. My mom does the same at her place, and it looks so charming!

As you can see, it doesn't need to be fancy or elaborate, but I strongly suggest finding some way to show off your holiday mail! It's fun, and my kids love checking which new cards arrived that day!
