When I shared my small entryway storage ideas a while back, I showed my own entryway and how I'd made the most of its storage.
A few commenters said they MUST not know what a small entryway is, because my spaces are quite large.
I should have clarified that while my front entryway may be large, I didn't have much wall space to work with. That limited how I could create storage in the space.
Most of the time, a storage solution needs a wall for a table to sit against or for hooks to hang from.
In my case, my entryway is flanked on all sides by large doorways or openings, which left me few options for creating a much-needed landing spot.
That limited wall space sent me on a months-long search for the perfect console table to fit my small wall. It proved harder than I expected, because I'm picky. Ha!

What I Needed From My Table and Landing Zone
I wanted my console table to:
- Be neutral in color
- Not be wider than my wall, which was only 32″
- Have a drawer
- Have an open space at the bottom for a basket
- Not be taller than my chair rail
The reason I wanted a landing spot in the first place is that I love a lamp in the entryway. My lamps are plugged into wifi plugs, so they come on at dusk and turn off at a set time at night. I also always want a mirror by the front door for last-minute checks.
Plus, it's always nice to have a place for guests to set their keys or other items when they walk in. So creating this small landing zone was important to me, and I think it's pretty!
