Down South, a ceiling fan is essential. Goodness, it gets HOT! Although ceiling fans have a bit of a poor reputation, plenty of charming farmhouse models are available today. Lighting brands have improved dramatically since the dated, unattractive white fans many of us grew up with in the 80s and 90s. Do you remember those??

I’ve adored the farmhouse lighting style for ages, and you can check out my Budget Farmhouse Lighting Favorites and Adding Old House Character with Schoolhouse Lighting. With these guides, you’ll swap out all that builder-grade fixtures in no time, and without breaking the bank!
Recently, though, I replaced the living room ceiling fan with this stunning rustic farmhouse model that has mason jar-style globes. It’s an unbeatable price, and I fell for the wood tones on the blades as well as its clean, simple look.

This update was a long time coming, since I’d wanted to remove the old fan from the moment we toured the house. I’m delighted that this swap finishes the lighting updates in our open-concept living area! Hooray!!!! It only took 6.5 years. LOL
We already updated our kitchen lighting in this post and our entryway lighting in this post.
But back to today’s subject! We adore this new farmhouse ceiling fan!
Highlights of the Hunter Crown Canyon 52 inch Ceiling Fan
I appreciate that this fan runs quietly and doesn’t wobble. I believe that comes down to the fixture’s quality and the weight of the base. It feels really sturdy, which I like. I was concerned that such a robust build would make installation difficult.

Have you ever installed a light fixture and had to hold the mounting kit up against the ceiling while wiring everything together?
It’s such a struggle and can be pretty uncomfortable. Thankfully, these designers were clever and built it so the fan can hang while you attach the wiring, so you don’t have to hold it up. There’s also ample space in the ceiling to tuck the wires away. My husband, Coach, was thrilled he didn’t have to cram the wires back up into the ceiling, either.

Coach declared it the simplest installation he’s ever tackled!
And now it looks so much better than the fixture before!
This is what we had before. It wasn’t terrible, but what you can’t see is that two of the blades had noticeable nicks (left by the previous owner), and it simply wasn’t my taste!

Finding a good photo of it was tough, since I usually cropped it out of every shot! Ha!
And now look how lovely and in tune with my style it is! I looooove it!

Since this ceiling fan has brought me so much happiness, I figured you might want some of that joy too! We’re planning to replace the bedroom ceiling fan soon with one of the options I’ve listed below, and I can’t wait! (Our current fan has stopped working.)
I’ll reveal at the end which one we’re choosing!

The Finest Farmhouse Ceiling Fans
Ceiling fans aren’t going anywhere here in the South. For a stretch, plenty of designers tried to phase them out completely. Yet Joanna Gaines’ fans on Fixer Upper reminded us that it’s perfectly fine to use them when the heat hangs around 8 months of the year!
Hello to all the Southern states! We can all breathe a collective sigh of relief. We get to keep our cooling companions after all, and goodness, these are adorable!

1. Hunter Channelside Bronze Ceiling Fan. This rustic industrial fan has a relaxed, low-profile look that suits casual rooms beautifully! (Psst … this is the one I’ll be installing in our bedroom very soon!)
2. Casa Vestige Antique Bronze Cage Ceiling Fan. This eclectic industrial design would be a great match for a kids’ room with bunk beds!
3. Craftmade Modern Farmhouse Ceiling Fan. Isn’t this one simply gorgeous?!? I adore the candelabra-style lights, weathered pine blades and rich bronze finish. Make sure to check the reviews before buying, as the blades appear darker in person than in the photo. It’s still stunning!
4. Hunter Crown Canyon Bronze Ceiling Fan with Mason Jar Style Lights. This is the fan I just put up in my living room, and it was love at first sight! From the blade color to the mason jar-style lights, it’s my favorite. It runs very steadily, gives off a soft glow without being too bright, and moves a LOT of air!
5. Westinghouse Great Falls Ceiling Fan. (The precise fan pictured is no longer available, but this one is very similar!) This indoor/outdoor model would be ideal for a covered porch or patio. Or hang it indoors for a relaxed, rustic farmhouse feel!
6. Savoy House Ceiling Fan. This farmhouse fan features a striking metal barrel surrounding the light! I’m also a fan of the candle-style bulbs!
7. Animation Studio Collection Ceiling Fan. This vintage-inspired cage drum fan is so cool!
8. Galvanized Farmhouse Ceiling Fan. This indoor/outdoor fan’s plain, farmhouse-inspired style would look right at home in your real (or just aesthetically farmhouse) home!
9. Gracie Oaks Industrial Ceiling Fan. This industrial cage-style light fixture fan is a great pick for farmhouse fans and budget-minded shoppers.
10. Gracie Oaks Ravena Ceiling Fan. A simple ceiling fan without a light kit is an economical way to get farmhouse style for under $130!
