Discover how to use Young Living Stress Away essential oils around your home to create a calming atmosphere for your whole family!
It may not be Saturday, but I simply have to chat about my all-time favorite essential oil. It's my go-to oil, the one that truly understands me. You know the feeling, right? {A group of my blogging friends and I are sharing our top oil picks today, so scroll to the end to see them and enter a great giveaway that includes Stress Away!}
I wouldn't call myself an especially stressed person, but I'm a driven, eldest-child type who always has a project going. I enjoy being productive and I love to get things done. I plan everything, and {my husband} might even say I'm a bit of a control freak. So when plans fall apart or I need to shift my schedule {or my mood}, this little bottle of goodness called Stress Away comes to the rescue.

When my Premium Starter Kit arrived in February, I couldn't wait to sniff every single oil inside. I'm sure you've done the same. I already knew Lemon and Peppermint, Lavender and Thieves, but Stress Away was new to me. It was love at first sniff. It reminded me of the beach, and I absolutely adore the beach, so that was a clear win. {It's a blend with lime and vanilla, among other oils ... so good!} I dabbed a little on the back of my neck and within minutes I felt a gentle sense of ease settle over me. A real sense of calm, if you like. I've used it every day since, and I never leave the house without it.

Its effect on me is gentle yet genuinely strong. When I use it daily, I'm far more likely to go with the flow and let little annoyances slide. On the days I skip it in the morning, I'll be stirring dinner in the evening wondering why I feel like yelling. Ah yes, because I forgot my Stress Away.
{Speaking of which, I'm off to add some to the diffuser... Ahhh, so much better!}
Stress Away for Cranky Kids
Until recently I'd only used it on myself, but I've found a lovely new way to put it to work!
Summer is our travel season. My husband is a coach and a teacher, so we pack in a LOT of fun during the summer. We're off to the beach, the lake, or to see family and friends. Basically, we live in the car. My daughter is three and a half and handles road trips well, but after hours in the car she gets a little fed up, if you catch my drift.
A couple of weeks ago, we were heading home from Atlanta and she was seriously fussy. Whining, crying, and nothing we tried seemed to settle her. So I grabbed some napkins, put a few drops of Stress Away on them, and tucked them into the air vents. The car soon filled with the sweet scent of lime and vanilla, and within five minutes Miss A had calmed down. Such sweet relief!

{Cotton balls are shown in the vents here; I now keep a bag of them in the glove box}
About an hour and a half later she grew fussy again, so we added a few more drops to the napkins. Within minutes she was quiet, and when I glanced back she was fast asleep. Hallelujah!! Peace at last. I won't be taking another road trip without diffusing Stress Away in the car. Never again. #takethatcrankytoddler #nomorewhining
What Is Stress Away?
This is how Young Living describes Stress Away ...
Young Living's Stress Away™ blend is a natural way to ease the everyday tension that builds up in life. It was the first product to combine lime and vanilla, pure therapeutic-grade essential oils known for their stress-easing qualities. Stress Away also contains copaiba and lavender, which are said to loosen mental rigidity and bring things back into balance. Thanks to plant compounds such as cedrol from cedarwood and the eugenol naturally found in vanilla, Stress Away may help promote relaxation and ease occasional nervous tension.
Caution: Keep skin away from direct sunlight and UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying.
