Love blue and white decor? Bring this blue and white Christmas theme into your home this year! Let my home be your inspiration!
Welcome to my blue and white Christmas living room, filled with gold accents and classic style! I have been crazy about all things blue and white this year, so I chose it as the holiday theme for this room. Come on in… let me show you around!
Last year I had a blast working traditional red and green plaid into my living room. It was our second year in the house, so I already knew how I wanted to decorate, and I went all in on classic Christmas colors.

I also filled it with the sentimental ornaments we have collected since our wedding. Some of them I have had since I was a little girl!
Honestly, I figured I would keep that theme year after year. I *thought* I was tired of changing my decor every season, so I planned to simply rearrange what I already owned.
BUT this year I fell head over heels for a gorgeous medium blue. That blue shows up in pops throughout my dining room now, and it is the paint color in my laundry room. So why not make it the Christmas theme too?
Then I spotted this stunning herringbone ribbon, and I knew it had to be part of my Christmas decor this year.
Planning the Living Room's Christmas Decor
It is so fun to reuse pieces from past years and add a few new ones for a completely different look! Here is the design board I made for the room. Seeing everything together first helps me plan and shop for the space. (Learn how to create your own design board!)

I worked in plenty of what I already owned (a perk of years of collecting Christmas decor). I really only bought new wrapping paper, ribbon and a few ornaments. Everything else came from my decor stash.
It has been so fun to see how everything comes together as I have started decorating the tree. I arranged some of the pieces together in the collage below.

WHERE TO FIND IT: Gold & Green Mistletoe Wrapping Paper | Gold & White Wrapping Paper | Blue Berry Picks | Gold Ornament | Acorn Ornament | Blue Canvas Herringbone Ribbon | Gold Velvet Ribbon | Blue Chiffon Ribbon | Hand-Painted Hydrangea Ornament | Gold Berry Picks
Gold, Blue & White Christmas Decor in the Living Room
And here is how it all looks once the room is fully decorated!

ROOM WHERE TO FIND IT: Mantel Garland | White & Gold Stockings (similar) | Hanging Bells | Mini Juniper Wreaths | 55″ Frame TV | Christmas TV Art | Console Table | Lamp (similar) | Nutcracker Figurines | Wood Framed Wall Mirror | Console Table Basket | Sectional in Twill Fabric | Blue Linen Pillow | Cable Knit Pillow Cover | Blue & Green Plaid Pillow Cover | Blue Storage Ottoman | Wood Bowl/Tray | Winter Floral Arrangement | Brass Bell | Big Brass Candle
I have not had a chance to wrap any gifts yet, but everything else in this room is finished!

I went back to my symmetrical, double-swoop garland on the fireplace mantel. Last year I did an offset side swoop, but the traditional look felt more fitting this time.

You can find my video tutorial on how to hang a garland on a mantel in this post. It is several garlands layered over each other, and then I add bells and ribbon bows to finish it off.
The stockings hang from hooks I screw into the underside of the mantel. Once Christmas is over, I remove the hooks and no trace of the holes remains.
The Gold, Blue and White Christmas Tree
On to the Christmas tree, the star of the show! My tree decorating process is explained in this post from a few years ago. This year I kept my same tree skirt, tree collar, star and picks, but added new ribbon and a few new ornaments for a totally different look.

TREE TRIMMING WHERE TO FIND IT: 7.5′ Frasier Grande Christmas Tree | Tree Topper | Woven Tree Collar (similar) | Blue Canvas Herringbone Ribbon | Gold Velvet Ribbon | Blue Ornament | Blue Hydrangea Ornament | White Matte Ornaments | Gold Ornaments | Gold/White Canvas Ribbon
You can completely transform your tree's look with new ribbon and a few inexpensive ornaments or trimmings!

I also added a few personal ornaments that fit the theme, like this dated one I buy every year for our family photo. I order the picture in wallet size, and it fits the frame perfectly.

Media Cabinet Decor
On the back wall of the living room sits a media cabinet. I keep my wood-framed mirror there all year and simply switch up the decor around it. I like to add flocked trees in baskets for Christmas and winter. The nutcrackers were a new addition last year.

I have had the pillows on my couch for years, and this year I just kept out the ones that match the theme!

And do not miss the 30% off sale on my big brass bowl candle (through Monday, November 28, 2022). It is the Good Tidings scent, and I LOVE it this time of year. It fills the whole house with goodness.
This lovely cedar, berries and snow art I bought last year works perfectly again this year.

Blue and White Built-in Bookshelf Decor
I added some seasonal touches to my favorite built-in bookshelf. They are pretty simple, but I love how they turned out!

I found these cute blue, white and green winter church figurines at a small shop in Atlanta while visiting family. They fit my decor perfectly, and I plan to leave them out all winter! I wish I had a link, but I could not find them online.

I could not resist framing our Christmas card this year, too! Our colors match my blue and white Christmas decor so well.

Also, for the first time ever, I added mini juniper wreaths with blue chiffon ribbon to the living room windows. An entire wall is windows, so the wreaths bring festive charm to what would otherwise be plain glass.

Final Thoughts
I think that covers the whole living room! I am so happy with how it looks, and I am glad it is finished so we can enjoy it all season. If I missed a link in the tour, feel free to ask in the comments below.

My kids will soon hang all of our sentimental ornaments on the tree, on top of the 'fancy' decorations. So do not worry, we get to enjoy that kind of tree too!
I just wanted to share the tree in its fancy state before we fill it with everything else. Maybe I will post a photo of it later!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the tour. I will share more rooms as I get them decorated.
I have already shared my Christmas kitchen and Christmas bedrooms. They will not look much different this year, so check out those older posts for inspiration!
