These lovely floral office curtains are the perfect finishing touch for a feminine blush and brass office.
While searching for sophisticated yet feminine curtains for my office makeover, I found so many great options! I wanted something pretty that would coordinate with my blush and brass design scheme, but I didn't want them to look like they belonged in a baby nursery, either.
Though if you're creating a sophisticated baby girl's nursery, I think any of these curtains would be fabulous there, too.
I'll share which ones I chose (in case you forgot from the mood board I posted a few weeks ago), and I'll share some of the other ones I loved at the end of this post!
If you don't remember my mood board design for the office, here it is! The whole design started with the rug under my desk, which I ordered as soon as we moved in, because I didn't want my rolling chair to scratch our gorgeous hardwood floors.

Tip: Using Mood Boards
You can't properly decorate a room without making a mood board first. If you pick items for a room without seeing them together beforehand, it just won't work! Use this helpful guide for creating a mood board to create rooms that flow together!
Choosing the Floral Office Curtains
I knew I wanted a feminine color palette, but I also wanted it to be subtle, since the office is one of the first rooms you see when you walk in the front door.
I also knew I wanted neutral walls (Shoji White) and pretty floral curtains that would coordinate with my new rug. Luckily, I found these gray and blush floral curtains. I hoped they would look as good in person as they did online in my mood board. And sure enough, they were a perfect match!

I love them even more than I expected! It's hard to tell how well they coordinate with the rug in these photos, but in person they're perfection!

I also used some frames I had on hand to decorate the space between the two sets of curtains. These are old IKEA frames with new printable art from Juniper Print Shop.

The curtain rods I bought are from Amazon, but I've bought similar ones at Target and like the Target ones better. I love the drapery hooks these curtains came with, as you can see in the close-up photo below. The curtain rings (no longer sold) were bought separately to hang them on the rod.

I much prefer hanging curtains from curtain rings rather than sliding the rod through the tops of the curtain. It lets them be pulled back further on the rod, and in my opinion it just hangs nicer. That's just my personal preference.

I'm so happy with how they turned out!
It's a far cry from where the room started just a few months ago:

And if you're paying close attention, you'll notice I've put the panels on the back of the desk. They still need one final coat of paint before they're done. The office is slowly but surely getting closer to finished!! Yay! (Just waiting on one thing, and then it'll be reveal time.)
More Floral Curtains for a Feminine Space (or Baby Girl Nursery)
I love adding texture to any space with curtains. Sometimes I go for a solid linen curtain or a plush velvet one. But other times I love to add texture AND pattern with pretty floral curtains.
These are some of my favorites I found while searching for just the right curtains for my office! A few aren't floral, but I liked them enough to share them here!
The Right Way to Hang Curtains to Make Your Room Look Larger
I always take any opportunity to share where to hang curtains so your room looks its best.

As you can see in the diagram above, the rule of “high and wide” when hanging curtains makes your room and window look larger.
A good rule of thumb is to hang your curtains 4-6″ above the window frame and 3-6″ beyond each side of the window.
And pay attention to curtain length before you hang them. If you'll be opening and closing your curtains often, leave 1/4-1/2 inch between the bottom of the drapes and the floor. If you're leaving them in place and want an upscale vibe, let 6-8 inches puddle on the floor.
I shared more information at the end of this: Where to Buy Cheap Curtains post (click here).
The Office Reveal
If you missed it, I revealed the office a few months after posting about the curtains! I hope you'll hop over and see how the rest of the room turned out!
