A spring farmhouse mantel built around an old window, floral stems, and a charming galvanized tray. Come get inspired!

My mantel is dressed for spring with farmhouse touches and fresh flowers. All the Christmas and winter decor has finally been packed up in the attic. There are always a few stragglers I miss the first time around.

Now we're welcoming the warmer weather with blooms! There are plenty of flowers and fresh, pretty colors. I simply couldn't resist. I kept all the neutral farmhouse touches a room can handle and added lots of faux flowers.

It's true, I have a black thumb. I've even killed succulents. I'm amazed the boxwood is still alive. Seriously.

I love that spring brings out the pretty aquas and pinks. I adore this time of year!

I also love spring because my husband coaches football and wrestling, so he's rarely home from August until mid-March. This time of year, Coach is around much more. Yay for extra help with the kiddos so I can work on more projects!

We love spending time together as a family this time of year. The days are getting longer, so we take the kids to the park or go for neighborhood walks after dinner. We soak up the sunshine and warm air while getting a little exercise too.

You may recognize the pretty aqua and gray floral pillows on my couch. I made them a while back. Here's the tutorial if you missed it the first time.

I've finally landed on my favorite pillow combination for the couch. I used to buy random pillows and hope they'd work together, and I was never good at getting the right mix. (The couch is very deep, and I really need large pillows, because guests like to tuck them behind their backs.)

Now I love this combination! The plaid pillows go out front in fall and winter, and in spring and summer I swap them so the pretty aqua floral pillows take center stage. Nothing needs to be stored during the off season, and they look great together.

The gray lumbar pillow came from IKEA.

The sweet little wooden tray is adorable! I bought it at Target last fall and have used it in all my decor since. Love it!

The pretty aqua vases are from Hobby Lobby and are my only new purchase for this mantel. I know I'll use them constantly. They were 50% off last week, so I scored them for under $10 each.

I've owned this old window for years. I found it at a local shop in Franklin, Tennessee for next to nothing, and I love bringing it out every spring.
