Over the past few years I've moved away from all-out decorating for each new season and toward simpler, more subtle changes to my decor. I find it more enjoyable to add larger pieces to my decor collection instead of a bunch of smaller items.
So this year I didn't redecorate too much for fall. But I did use my already large faux pumpkin collection and some of my favorite warmer tones and cozy textures to bring autumn vibes around the house.
For the most part these changes are in the living room and dining room. I shared that I'm planning to give the dining room a makeover in the coming months in my home goals post. Even though it isn't 100% how I'd like it yet, I'm still decorating while it's in progress.
Fall in the Entry Way
Oh, and I added a few touches in the entryway as well. Let's take a closer look!

I took a chance on these faux hydrangea stems, which were much cheaper than my favorites from Pottery Barn. When they arrived I wasn't sure they'd work, since they were smashed flat. But once I pulled them out of the packaging, they fluffed up easily and look great!
There are 5 stems in the bunch, so they really filled out the vase for less than $20!
Fall in the Dining Room

I even placed some blue hydrangea stems on this side table. They make an inexpensive pop of fall color in my new ceramic vase! Everything else is from years ago and no longer available. The art print is from my Christmas decor collection, but I loved it so much I left it up all year long.

I did pick up a new plaid tablecloth for my new-to-me dining table, plus some rust-colored napkins with copper chargers and napkin rings. These would all be great for hosting Thanksgiving.

In the middle of my table is my latest fall craft: chinoiserie pumpkins. I shared the DIY chinoiserie pumpkin tutorial here!

I had fun adding some of my fall decor reserves to my new china cabinet from my grandmother's home. I look forward to adding more pieces to it in the years to come.

The pear platter in the middle is something I bought right after I got the china cabinet, purely to display it there. It's a Miss Mustard Seed replica (one she licensed), and I love how it looks in my dining room. (Hint: you'll see these colors in my dining room makeover.)

Oh, and I bought these beautiful velvet pumpkins. I guess I did add a few new items to my collection. Ha! I've had the bust planter for a while now and still love it.
Fall in the Living Room
Then in the living room I added my usual decor, including my pumpkin and hydrangea centerpiece on my built-in shelves.

And I added a few more pumpkins for good measure.

I've had the candlesticks on my mantel since last Christmas. I loved them so much I never took them down! Then I swapped my bay leaf topiaries for some olive topiaries I've had for years.

I added a favorite faux pumpkin to the mantel along with this new wood chain decor, and called it done! The horse art on our Frame TV has been up since summer, and I didn't think it needed to change since I still like it!

I wish the candlesticks weren't sold out. I got them from Target last Christmas, and I hope they come back!

The back corner of the living room is filled with my favorite new purchase of the season: my large artisan vases and maple leaf stems.
All of my throw pillows are several years old. I wasn't going to buy any new pillow covers this year, but when I spotted these beautiful cable knit pillow covers on clearance, I had to grab a couple. They haven't arrived yet.

Fall in the Kitchen

As for the kitchen, you've already seen the fall printables I used in this corner. Everything else looks much the way it did when I shared my kitchen reveal. You can read that post here! I'll be sure to add lots of fun decor for Christmas.
I hope you enjoyed my little fall home tour. I can't believe it's already fall, which is why it took me so long to add my decor. Ha! It snuck up on me. Can you believe it's almost the end of 2021??
