Find fresh inspiration in these low-cost fall decorating tips! Easy ideas to make your house feel warm and inviting this autumn!
Confession time. I adore pumpkins. They are the ideal little fall accent, but I push myself to decorate for the season in other ways rather than buying a mountain of them.

Still, making a pumpkin craft is right up my alley, so I don’t mind whipping up a small pumpkin from leftover materials I already own. Saving money this way is something I truly appreciate!
I’m thrilled to be teaming up with some of my favorite bloggers once more this week to show off my Fall Home Tour. Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post for all the inspiring content!
My Top Low-Cost Fall Decor Tips (& My Autumn Home)
1. Purchase fake pumpkins and give them a coat of paint (if their existing shade isn’t to your liking).
If one year you’re smitten with a certain hue but the next year you want a different palette, simply repaint your pumpkins! Plenty of lovely how-to guides exist online, so a quick web search will turn up plenty. Either way, there’s no reason to buy a whole new batch every season just to freshen things up.

I didn’t paint these particular pumpkins in my kitchen, though I would have done so had I not found them in my preferred tones last year. Whenever you spot fake pumpkins in colors you love, grab a few. Then, when my palette inevitably shifts, I can simply give these a fresh coat!

2. Layer in texture, texture and even more texture!
Textural pieces are a natural fit for autumn decor. Pull out a few extra baskets or use your favorite woven planters to add depth to a room. I’m partial to the warm tones of natural woven baskets, which are ideal for this. You can find them just about anywhere: up in your attic, tucked in the garage, or at a thrift store. Have a look around and see what turns up!

Another option is knit or patterned fabric, such as cable knit. I dressed a wooden pumpkin I built in this cable knit sweater to add interest and texture rather than extra color.
3. Choose Deeper Toned Faux Greenery.
Orange and plum work just as well. Use whichever faux stems you have that suit the season!

This year I included some peach stems in my harvest wreath. Peaches aren’t strictly a fall fruit, but that soft peach shade ties together the plums, greens and blues in the display. Think outside the box and work with what you already have!

Blush and plum shades are also favorites of mine this time of year. I swap them in for the bright pink stems I use during summer.
4. Lantern Glow.
A bit of soft lighting goes a long way in a warm autumn home. I skipped them this year, but I used one a few years back when I styled this fall tablescape. I’ll likely bring some out

5. Complimentary Printables.
I adore a beautiful free printable as a budget-friendly way to refresh my home for each new season. I’ve also recently shared creative ways to use a printable beyond simply printing and framing it. The “gather” sign below is one example. Click here for the tutorial to make your own!

6. Spray Paint Magic.
I’m smitten with the copper finish, yet I don’t own a single copper item! Thankfully, spray paint solves that. I recently coated the hoop on this wreath in copper rather than leaving it the silver it was when I bought it.

I’ve got more ideas brewing to give everything a copper makeover!

I hope a few of these ideas help you decorate for fall without overspending!
