A fun new summer doormat is a great way to welcome the new season on your front porch (or back stoop)! You'll love these because they're sassy, playful, and festive!
Swapping out your doormat has a way of making your front porch feel fresh again right away.
Once summer arrives and it's hitting 80 degrees most days, I'm always ready to swap heavier, darker tones for something lighter, brighter, and a little more cheerful. And the best part? It's one of the easiest (and most budget-friendly!) ways to refresh your summer front porch.
Whether you love a classic striped look, a playful seasonal phrase, or a layered doormat moment, I've rounded up the best summer doormats to help you create a welcoming front porch you'll love coming home to. Bring on the pool days, lemonade, and time with family at the lake!

Patriotic Flag Doormat
Switching out the outdoor doormat is also a great way to get into the summer mindset. Still, if you're like me with kids in school, you're more than ready to embrace fun, late nights, and lazy wake-up times.
But if your schedule doesn't change at the end of May, switching up your decor is a great way to get in the spirit! You might also want to make this patriotic wreath for Memorial Day and July 4th!
One affordable way to update your front porch for the season is a summer doormat (or three)! At these prices, you might grab one for the back door and side door, too!
I've gathered more than 25 doormats, and these are some of my favorites.

3 Easy Ways to Style Your Doormat
A summer doormat is one of the simplest ways to refresh your front porch, but a few easy styling tricks can make it look even more polished and inviting. Here are three simple ways to create a welcoming entry you'll love all season long.
1. Layer It Over a Striped Outdoor Rug
One of my favorite front porch tricks is layering a smaller doormat over a larger outdoor rug. A classic black-and-white striped rug adds contrast and texture, while a neutral woven rug gives a softer, more relaxed feel. This simple layering instantly makes your porch look more styled and deliberate.

Tip: For the best visual impact, pick an outdoor rug that extends several inches past your doormat on every side. For example, an 18″ x 30″ doormat over a 2′ x 3′ rug.
2. Add a Planter or a Lantern
Nothing says welcome quite like a lovely planter filled with seasonal flowers or greenery, or a lantern tucked beside the front door. Pairing your summer doormat with a planter of colorful blooms, ferns, or greenery frames the entrance and adds charm with very little effort.
For a cozy evening glow, set a lantern with a battery-operated candle beside your doormat. It's a simple touch that makes your front porch feel warm and inviting.

At my old house, I didn't just layer doormats; I also made my own planters and filled them with faux plants.
3. Coordinate With Your Front Door Color
When picking a summer doormat, think about your front door's color and the surrounding decor. A coordinated palette makes everything feel pulled together and creates a welcoming first impression.
For example, if your front door is blue, try a doormat with coastal hues or natural textures. If your door is black, a striped rug or bright summer florals can offer a beautiful contrast. The goal isn't a perfect match. It's a look that feels cohesive and reflects your personal style.
Remember, decorating your front porch doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes a simple summer doormat paired with a few thoughtful accessories is all it takes to make your home feel fresh, welcoming, and ready for the season.
