Kitchen chandeliers over your dining table are a beautiful (and practical!) way to draw the eye and add even more personality to your space. Here are some gorgeous chandelier ideas for YOUR kitchen!
Good lighting over the table where you eat is important, right? That way you can see what you're eating and who you're sharing it with!
Especially in a breakfast nook with little natural light, a kitchen chandelier over the dining table provides the light you need and doubles as a beautiful decor piece for your home.

Choosing just ONE chandelier is the hard part! With so many designs and options, narrowing it down can feel monumentally difficult. It's a lot like picking a paint color for your space.
You may remember the search I went on for the perfect chandelier for my dining room. That led to choosing my favorite style (there were so many choices!) and deciding I might buy my first pick for the dining room and my second pick for our eat-in kitchen. (See which chandelier I chose for my kitchen at the end of this post.)
I've settled on a chandelier for the dining room (though I haven't bought it yet, since I'm waiting until it's time to tackle that room), but I'm still working out the right light for the kitchen.
You may or may not recall that this is where we're starting…

I would have left it alone a while longer, but a glass pane fell out and the fixture is lopsided now, and another pane has a large crack. So I decided to replace it now. #safetyissue

There are some amazing options out there, and we'll get to them in a moment. First, let's talk about how to choose an appropriate chandelier for your space.
And if you need it, learn how to change a light fixture in this post!
Difference Between Kitchen Chandeliers and Dining Room Chandeliers
Chandeliers can be quite large and dramatic or slightly smaller and less formal. Dining room chandeliers tend to be more formal and impressive.

In general, when you're searching for a chandelier to hang over the table in your breakfast nook, look for something casual and maybe even fun! Depending on your space, you may also want something a little smaller, like a chandelier-style pendant light.

Some Things to Consider Before You Shop…
One of the great things about lighting is that the right fixture can introduce new shapes and textures to your space.
Do you want metal (brass, chrome or bronze), a fabric shade or a woven texture? Is there a fun color that would tie your space together? Would you like glass globes or linen shades?
Would a round chandelier be ideal? If your space has lots of straight lines and a rectangular table, a round shape might soften things. Or perhaps a lantern over a round table would look nice?
If you think through what you want to see in your space before shopping, it will help you narrow your choices and leave you less confused in the long run!

The Best Kitchen Chandeliers To Choose From
I've picked several different styles of kitchen chandelier lighting for this list. Whether you love farmhouse style or prefer something more modern or elegant, there's an option for you here!
If other styles suit your home decor better, go for it!
1. Traditional (or Candle) Chandeliers for Your Kitchen
The word "chandelier" comes from the French "chandelle," meaning candle. The candle-like torches on this style are stunning and recall the original chandeliers.
Styles, colors and finishes vary so you can match your taste. For some reason I'm always drawn to the curvy ones.
For example, I love this one from Wayfair below. It strikes the perfect balance of elegant and modern with a casual touch, and it costs less than the almost identical chandelier from Pottery Barn.

I love both a simple candelabra like the one above and a candelabra with fabric shades.

2. Wagon Wheel (Ring) Style Kitchen Chandelier
I know, I know. You may have heard "wagon wheel" and pictured a rustic wooden piece in a cheesy themed restaurant. But wagon wheel designs have come a long way.
A wagon wheel chandelier like this one adds plenty of light and an interesting decor element. I'm a sucker for this design, and it suits farmhouse decor as well as traditional and classic homes.
You can find it in one other finish: oil-rubbed bronze. Check out the other chandeliers I gathered below the photo to see a variety of styles.
Maybe that's part of why I like it so much?

3. Woven and Rattan Kitchen Lighting
I love this new trend of woven and rattan lighting in the kitchen. Its coastal vibe is wonderfully casual, and I'm here for it!
The only reason I haven't picked this style is that a rattan or woven light usually has just one bulb, and I like plenty of light over my tables. But if you don't rely on the overhead fixture for all your light, this would be such a fun option!

Drum Style Kitchen Chandelier Lighting
Perhaps a drum chandelier is the best fit for your home.
This style comes in wood, metal or fabric, in many different finishes. Plus, it looks great over a round, square or rectangular table, and a fixture that works across table shapes is harder to find than you'd think.

A modern glass bubble chandelier adds some pizazz to a room, not to mention a fun conversation piece! Modular designs come in plenty of styles and colors.

Rectangular Linear Chandeliers
Got a long kitchen table? An angular chandelier might be just what you need. You can choose a rectangular piece like this one, or a pendant-style chandelier may be more your style.

Globe Chandelier
This style looks clean and modern or glam and traditional, depending on the finish you choose, so it suits many decor styles. The nice thing about smaller chandeliers like this is their versatility.
If you have a long table, you could hang several, but they look amazing on their own too.
