Major Announcement: What’s Changing and Why It Matters

Hello friends — it’s been a while! If you’ve noticed the blog has been quieter lately, you’re not alone. Life has had a lot going on, and I’ve been taking more time away from projects and posts than usual. If you haven’t noticed, that’s perfectly okay too — I know there are plenty of other things to keep you busy. 🙂

The short version of what’s been keeping me low-energy is also the best reason I’ve had for slowing down: Coach and I are expecting our second baby! WOOHOO! This little one has been the reason behind the naps, the slower pace, and my temporary lack of motivation to tackle home projects and blog updates.

Baby #2 Announcement

If you’ve followed our story for a while, you know this hasn’t been simple. For the past two years we’ve faced the painful reality of secondary infertility and, heartbreakingly, two miscarriages. I wrote about that season in a previous post about secondary infertility and the ways our faith carried us through. Those experiences were some of the hardest we’ve known, and they reshaped how I view hope, expectations, and what it means to be grateful.

During the long months of trying, I became laser-focused on one outcome: another baby. I wanted it so desperately that it absorbed most of my hope and attention. Over time, though, a gentle lesson came: blessings take many forms, and the gifts we receive aren’t always the ones we imagined. I learned to look for grace in everyday life — in steady relationships, in moments of rest, in the small joys that were already surrounding our family.

When this pregnancy arrived, it felt like a quiet, tender answer after seasons of waiting. At the same time, early pregnancy brought the familiar physical challenges: nausea, fatigue, and the need to plan days around short bursts of energy. So my “laziness” has really been a mix of necessary rest and careful self-care. I’ve been prioritizing naps and gentle meals — enough to keep nausea at bay but not so much that I feel worse. I’m holding onto the hope of the second trimester soon, when energy often returns and life becomes a bit more manageable.

Expectant Mother's Parking

One small, humorous blessing has been the convenience of an expectant-parent parking spot close to the door — a tiny perk that feels huge on slow days. These little comforts have mattered more than I expected and reminded me that grace can show up in surprising ways.

Emotionally, this pregnancy has brought a mixture of joy and guarded hope. After loss and months of waiting, it’s natural to feel cautious. At the same time, there’s gratitude for the present: for our family, for the support we’ve received, and for this child growing inside me. We’re taking every step carefully, savoring good days, and being gentle with ourselves on hard ones.

I’m looking forward to getting back to projects and sharing more updates as my energy returns. For now, I’m focused on resting, staying healthy, and appreciating every blessing — both the big answers and the everyday mercies. Thank you for your patience and for sharing in this chapter with us.
