This week kicked off official summer swim team season, so our whole family is completely immersed in swimming! My husband is coaching the team this year, my oldest daughter is coaching alongside him, and both of my girls are swimming. As the volunteer coordinator, I stay busy behind the scenes, too. Needless to say, we're talking, thinking, planning, and living swim team life 24/7 these days!
Apart from swim team, we spent Memorial Day weekend at the lake. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate, and it rained almost nonstop. We managed to sneak out on the boat for a few hours each day, which was a nice break, but otherwise it was a pretty soggy weekend. Even so, it was wonderful to get away for a few days.
As much as I enjoyed the change of scenery, I was also glad to be home and back in our summer routine. Of course, 'routine' is a loose term this time of year! Between feeding hungry teenagers nonstop and keeping up with people coming and going all day, summer keeps everyone on their toes.
