Cozy Fall Mantel Decor with Harvest Wreath

Hello friends! If you lived nearby, I’d invite you in for coffee, light my new pumpkin spice candle, and we’d relax in the cool air-conditioning while pretending it’s already fall—even though it’s still hovering in the 90s most days. A little cozy scent and a comfy chat make the heat a little more bearable. 😂

Even if the weather doesn’t feel like it yet, my home definitely does—warm textures, muted oranges, and little nods to the season make it feel like fall indoors. 🍁🍂🏈🌽

I’m joining a beautiful lineup of home decor bloggers to share my fall home tour. Stay with me to the end so you can discover their lovely autumn spaces as well.

This year I went a bit more elaborate on the open kitchen shelves, so I kept the living room and mantel decor simpler to balance things. I like a layered approach—one area can be a little busier while another stays calm—so the entire home still feels cohesive without overwhelming the eye.

As the season progresses I’ll share more vignettes, but for now the mantel is an easy, welcoming nod to harvest time. Soon enough we’ll be trading iced drinks for chili, cardigans, and evenings curled up under a blanket—please, let that cool-down be sooner rather than later! #fingerscrossed

Most of what I used on the mantel is something I already owned; I just mixed and matched pieces in a fresh way. Repurposing familiar items keeps styling affordable and personal, and it’s a good nudge toward using what you already have.

One new project this year is a framed faux-shiplap fall wreath. I made a tutorial for it, and I added a simple “harvest” word in the center to give it a finished look. If you ever ask about the lettering, I used a specific script font and a cutting machine to create the word—simple materials, big impact.

Lately I’ve been craving more simplicity at home. Before the holidays pick up speed I plan to do some serious decluttering—putting away things that no longer serve the space so the season feels calmer and more intentional. That desire for simplicity is reflected in the mantel styling: clean layers, a few meaningful accents, and natural textures.

It’s been a couple of years since I gave the house a good edit, so I’m excited to pare down and keep only what I truly love.

For this mantel I used two glass vases filled with olive branches, seed eucalyptus, and a few cotton stems for texture. I layered a thrifted pair of books beneath one vase for height and visual interest. My current favorite pumpkin spice candle sits on the mantel and adds a cozy aroma that immediately reads as fall to anyone who visits.

Textile touches make a big difference: a “pumpkin patch” pillow I found this season and a navy-and-white hand-painted pumpkin pillow from a favorite artist add pattern and personality. The navy pillow has been waiting patiently for its moment since last season, and I’m so happy it finally gets to be out and enjoyed. A small stack of three decorative pumpkins—an older find—adds a playful, layered focal point.

My hope for this season is that your home—whether it feels abundant or you’re aiming for more simplicity—provides warmth and rest. To me, that quiet coziness is the essence of fall: comfort, calm, and a little celebration of the harvest.
