These beautiful floral office curtains are the perfect finishing touch for a feminine blush and brass office.
While searching for sophisticated yet feminine curtains for my office makeover, I discovered many lovely options. I wanted something pretty that would coordinate with my blush and brass design scheme without feeling juvenile or nursery-like. The goal was a soft, elegant look that reads mature and refined at the same time.
If you happen to be designing a refined baby girl’s nursery, many of the styles shown here would work beautifully there as well. But for this project, the focus was on creating an office that feels welcoming, polished, and cohesive with the rest of the home.
I’ll note which curtains I chose—if you noticed my mood board I shared earlier, that will be familiar—but I’ll also highlight several other options I loved during the search.
If you don’t remember my mood board design for the office, I used it to guide color and texture choices. The whole scheme began with the rug placed under the desk, purchased right after we moved in to protect our hardwood floors from chair casters. That rug set the tone for the blush and neutral palette, and I built the rest of the space around it.

Tip: Mood Boards
A mood board is essential when decorating. If you select items for a room without seeing how they work together, the result will likely feel disjointed. Use a mood board to test colors, textures, and scale before committing—this simple step prevents costly mistakes and helps you create a cohesive look.
Floral Office Curtains
From the start I knew I wanted a feminine color palette, but I kept it subtle because the office is one of the first rooms you see when you enter the house. I chose neutral walls (Shoji White) and planned to add floral curtains that coordinated with my new rug. After a long search I found a gray-and-blush floral fabric that matched the mood board perfectly—soft gray background, delicate blush blooms, and a refined, modern scale that reads grown-up rather than nursery-like.

They look even better in person than online. Photos don’t always capture the true relationship between fabric and rug, but in this case the combination is exactly as I imagined—soft, layered, and balanced.

I used some frames I had on hand to fill the wall space between two sets of curtains. Old IKEA frames are easy to refresh with printable art—small changes like that help pull a space together without spending a lot of money.

I installed brass curtain rods—one set from Amazon and another similar style from Target (I preferred the finish of the Target version). The curtains included drapery hooks that made hanging easy, and I paired them with separate curtain rings so the panels glide smoothly along the rod.

Personally, I prefer hanging curtains from rings rather than threading the rod through the curtain tops. Rings let the panels be pulled back wider and provide a cleaner drape. It’s a small detail that makes a noticeable difference in how tailored the window treatment looks.

I’m thrilled with how the curtains finished the room. They bring softness, pattern, and a touch of color while remaining elegant and understated.
The transformation is dramatic compared with how the room looked a few months ago—bright lime green walls and furniture in the middle of the floor were replaced by a cohesive blush-and-brass scheme that feels intentional and calm.

If you’ve been following along, you may have noticed I placed the curtain panels behind the desk for an unexpected layered look. They still need a final coat of paint on the desk panels, but the room is inching toward completion—just one more detail to finish before the full reveal.
More Floral Curtains for a Feminine Space (or Baby Girl Nursery)
Curtains are an easy way to add texture and pattern. Sometimes a solid linen or plush velvet is perfect, but floral curtains can introduce both pattern and softness. When selecting florals, consider scale, color saturation, and fabric weight so the pattern complements rather than competes with other textures in the room.
Below are a few curtain styles that stood out during my search—some floral, some textured neutrals—that would work well in a feminine office or a sweet nursery.
The Way to Hang Curtains and Make Your Room Look Larger
Where you mount your curtain rod has a big impact on how large your window and room appear. The “high and wide” rule is simple but effective: mount the rod higher above the window frame and extend it wider than the window opening.

A good guideline is to position the rod 4–6 inches above the window frame and extend the rod 3–6 inches beyond each side. This creates the illusion of a larger window and lets more natural light into the room when the curtains are open.
Pay close attention to curtain length: if you open and close them frequently, leave about 1/4–1/2 inch clearance from the floor for practical use. For a more luxurious, designer look, allow the curtains to “puddle” on the floor by leaving 6–8 inches extra—this reads upscale but is less practical in high-traffic rooms.

The Office Reveal
If you missed the full room reveal, I revealed the completed blush-and-brass office after finishing the curtains and other final details. The reveal shows how small choices—like curtain fabric, rod finish, and framed art—combine to create a cohesive, inviting workspace.
