Turquoise and Orange Fall Harvest Mantel Decor

Much like the old adage about not having a favorite child, as a blogger I probably shouldn’t have a favorite post.

But here’s a little secret…

…this one is it.

My fall mantel. My favorite post of the year. Shh—don’t tell the others.

This is the third mantel I’ve decorated, and something about crisp air, pumpkins, cider, chili, and hayrides always sparks my creativity. Even just thinking about these autumn moments inspires how I arrange and style the mantel.

I get genuinely giddy looking at my harvest sign and the pops of orange and turquoise. Even with a growing baby bump this year, I could dance a little jig just from the happy colors and cozy texture.

Totally aside: I need to take a proper photo of this rather large baby bump I’ve been carrying. I don’t have any good pictures of my pregnant belly yet—sorry, sweet little baby. I promise I’ll take one soon. #secondchildproblems

Yes, most of those pumpkins are faux for now—the pumpkin patch isn’t open yet—but I’ll be adding fresh ones around the house once the season allows. Faux pumpkins are a great way to stage a mantel before real produce is available, and they hold up well for several seasons if stored carefully.

I photographed the process as I decorated this year. After loving last year’s mantel so much, I challenged myself to create something fresh and even more personal. I think I succeeded: the mix of turquoise and orange with harvest textures feels new while still cozy and classic.

You can tell me if you prefer last year’s mantel, because I still love that one too.

My goal this year was to make my turquoise decor work through both fall and the holidays. Instead of packing everything away and pulling out totally new items for every season, I try to weave favorite pieces into different looks. It saves time, keeps the home cohesive, and lets a beloved color palette — like turquoise — shine year-round.

I like to repurpose what I already own—changing placement, mixing textures, and adding a seasonal accent color. For this mantel I layered turquoise accents with warm oranges, natural elements like dried stems and a few vintage pieces, and balanced the composition with different heights and shapes. Using items in a new way is an easy trick to refresh your space without buying everything new.

Here are a few simple tips if you want to recreate this turquoise & orange harvest mantel:

  • Start with a focal sign or art piece and build outward symmetrically or asymmetrically depending on your style.
  • Combine faux and real elements—use faux pumpkins early in the season and swap in fresh pumpkins when available.
  • Layer textures: wood, metal, glass, and woven materials add depth and keep the look warm.
  • Keep one consistent color (turquoise here) to carry through the seasons and make transitions easier.
  • Play with scale—mix small accents with larger statement pieces to keep the eye moving.

For now, I’ll leave you with my simple harvest mantel in turquoise and orange—my favorite post of the year. Seriously, don’t tell the others.
