It’s the first full weekend of December, and what a joyful rush it is. The calendar is full of holiday happenings—cookies with Santa, a Grinch-themed party, stroller walks to admire neighborhood light displays, and evenings spent baking with friends. I’ve even started taking different routes home just to catch newly lit houses and fresh displays. There’s something about twinkling lights and the warm glow of a tree in a window that makes the season feel gentle and bright.
Even with all the activity, my favorite part remains the quiet at day’s end. When the house settles and the tree lights hum softly, I’ll sit in the living room with a cup of tea, wrap a few presents, finish a little work, or sometimes simply press play on a cozy holiday movie. That peaceful sparkle at night is the small, steady joy I look forward to through the whole season.
