Be inspired by this spring mantel featuring pastel hues and playful faux florals!
When the season shifts, I enjoy refreshing the living room mantel with pieces from my decor closet—it’s become a spring ritual. This year I embraced soft pastels, bringing out my favorite pinks, greens, and turquoise tones for a light, cheerful mantel that still feels calm and simple.

I aim for an uncomplicated look—layering a few meaningful items rather than crowding the space. A neutral backdrop with accents in pastel pink and turquoise brings a fresh, springtime mood without feeling overdone. Faux florals are an easy, long-lasting way to add color and texture, and glass vases help keep the arrangement feeling airy.

I left my DIY cathedral window on the mantel as a focal point and added a magnolia wreath for a hint of rustic charm. To complement those pieces, I arranged a few faux stems in clear vases and placed simple candles inside a galvanized metal sorter for a relaxed, cottage feel. Mixing metallics like galvanized finishes with soft pastels adds depth while keeping the overall palette light.

Small, whimsical accents—like vintage-style watering cans—bring personality to the display. I’ve had these finds from Target for a few seasons, but similar pieces are often available each spring. A galvanized basket filled with pink roses anchors one side of the mantel and echoes the metal tones of the sorter.

A DIY blanket ladder placed near the mantel adds vertical interest and practical decor. I recently finished a simple rustic ladder that fits the corner perfectly and draped a lightweight throw in complementary coastal stripes to bring in summer-ready texture and color. A ladder or small shelf is a great way to introduce seasonal textiles without crowding the mantel itself.

For a personal touch, I display a coloring book and a set of colored pencils on a small tray—perfect for quiet moments of creativity. Choosing accessories that reflect hobbies or seasonal interests keeps the mantel feeling lived-in and authentic without overwhelming the space.

I also printed a few vintage botanical images to frame and tuck into the mantel display. These classic floral prints—roses, daffodils, blue blooms, and lavender—add a nostalgic touch and reinforce the pastel theme. Framed vintage prints are an affordable, easy way to refresh seasonal decor while keeping a cohesive look.

If you’d like more spring decorating ideas, I also styled the farmhouse kitchen shelves for spring and created a “Love One Another” spring printable—perfect for adding a seasonal sentiment to your home. Simple swaps like fresh-colored pillows, a few faux stems, and a printable are all you need to refresh a room for spring.
