Happy weekend! We’re fully settled into our summer routine and soaking up nostalgic ’90s summer vibes: riding bikes to the pool, filling coloring books, heading to summer camps, cheering at swim meets, and spending long afternoons with friends. Summer naturally nudges us away from screens and into real-life connection — long, sunlit days of activity, laughter, and memory-making that reset the pace of family life.
This season has brought some fun family projects and commitments. My husband is coaching our local summer swim team, which has been a rewarding mix of work and joy. The team celebrated a big win at its first meet of the season, and the kids are thriving on the camaraderie and confidence that come with sports.
We’ve also embraced the grown-up coloring book and marker trend as a screen-free evening ritual. I ordered a set of high-quality markers and several intricate coloring books, and my 10-year-old hasn’t put them down since they arrived. Coloring together has become a calm, creative way to unwind after busy days — a simple habit that helps us slow down and enjoy small, shared moments.
